Parent Portal
It is essential for parents and students to have access to their grades.
The instructions to sign up for this free IMPORTANT portal is:

PARENTS/GUARDIANS - HOW DO I GET STARTED?
STEP ONE – From your school’s website ( https://www.johnston.k12.nc.us/rms ), click on the Parent Tab and choose PowerSchool Parent Portal Registration from the drop down menu. Complete the questionnaire. You only need to complete the required fields marked by an asterisk. (Student Number is not a required field.) This is like signing an on-line user agreement. Your School’s data manager will be able to see when you have completed this.
STEP TWO - Contact Your Child's School. Please contact your child's school in order to set a time to come in and get the codes that you will need to set up your PowerSchool Parent Portal account.
STEP THREE - Present Your Photo ID at Your Child's School. In order to receive your access codes for PowerSchool Parent Portal, you will need to report to your child's school and present a valid photo ID. You will receive a letter at the school with instructions on how to complete setting up your account. The letter will contain an auto-generated Access Code and Access Password needed to link your child’s data to your account.
STEP FOUR - Accessing PowerSchool Parent Portal
Use the following link to access PowerSchool Parent Portal: https://jcsnc.powerschool.com/public
You can also find this link on the Parent Tab of the Johnston County Schools Web Page. Click on Parents. Then click on ParentPortalPowerSchool. When you go to this link for the first time, you will click on Create an Account. You will create your own username and password. You will then list your student(s) by name along with the Access Code and Access Password that you were given for each student. From here on out you will just log in using the username and password that you created.
You only need to create an account one time. You can use the login from year to year even when your student changes schools. So if you created the account at Elementary School level, when your student gets to Middle School, you will still see your student’s data from the same account. You will not need to create a new account.
